FUNGIPHILIA - A film about fungi, interconnectedness and adventure.

Greetings Humans!

This is an invitation to be part of a visual project, focused on fungal beauty, documenting the stories from our annual fungi safari in precious old growth forest throughout Europe.

We are Honor Wolf Moon; Fungiphile, explorer and teacher , and Dr Harry Hilser; Social scientist, conservationist and nature advocate.

For the last few years we've taken nearly a month out of our usual lives to embark on a 'Fungi Safari'. We've travelled far and wide to remote intact forests in our converted mini van ("Moop") in search of fantastic fungal fruits to photograph, observe and occasionally cook.

What began as an indulgence of our shared passion for Queendom Funga has mushroomed into a profound experience of the majesty, awe inspiring beauty and diversity of fungal life; an immersion into a facet of life that's remained a mystery until very recent times.

We've been encouraged to share our story through a short film and give others an opportunity to feel the magic.

We will be treading with care and reverence to tell a story of wonderous form, observing the stunning fungal bodies, exploring relationship and belonging within the network of living beings that we interdepend upon in far more ways than we yet know...including how time in nature positively influences mental health.

Expect footage of stunning landscapes, marvellous fungi, unique shots from our new field microscopes, and insights into how we travel in a minimalist, leave no trace style as well as some of the (no doubt) wild and unplanned encounters and challenges that arise when we are on the fungal trail.

Our aim is to film and produce everything ourselves along with music collaboration to give the film a deeply sovereign birth.

The intention is to make this short docu-film (45-60mins) widely available online for free and to organise some screenings around the South West by next autumn.

We are reaching out to you, our fungi-loving community, for funds big or small to make this dream a reality.

Your generous donations will be invested into the basic tech equipment needed for film making, along with production suite and promotional support. This project is emergent from an already thriving Fungiphilia community - and we have intention to make this equipment available to anyone in the community for similar ventures, including the Flete Field Lab - a pioneering mycorestoration project that we work with, teaming up with fungi to clean up the waterways in the area.

Join us as we do our part in ushering in a new age where all beings receive rights and respect, humans remember and truly sense their belonging and we tell new stories of hope and healing.
