Hi, my name is Megan. I am the oldest of Carl Ledbetter’s 8 grandchildren. He passed away 1/4/2024, and unfortunately did not have burial insurance. We are trying really hard to pay for his funeral services. We are getting there! Any help is greatly appreciated!

OBITUARY:

Mr. Carl Eugene Ledbetter age 76 of Livingston, Overton Co., TN passed from this life on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Davidson Co., TN.

Carl Ledbetter was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on Friday, May 30, 1947 to Bradley Ledbetter and Bessie Garrett Ledbetter. Carl was a Mason. He has a true talent for perfecting his masonry skills on every building he worked on. Many structures, some even in other states, some as notable as Opryland Hotel, bear the mark of his skills. He was a member of 1st Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years. Although his health prevented him from attending services, he loved the Lord and reading his Bible. Carl loved nature and all living things. He was one of the original “tree huggers”. He was also a voice for all animals, especially dogs. He and Janice spent much of their time caring for dogs and puppies that were lost or discarded on the side of a road. He also loved books, football games and westerns on television. Carl was dearly loved and he will be greatly missed.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 54 years: Janice (Johnson) Ledbetter; 3 Sons: Barry Ledbetter, Jason (Paula) Ledbetter, and Shawn (Jennifer) Ledbetter; 8 Grandchildren: Megan (Ledbetter) Ray (Gavin), Gracie Ledbetter, Allie Ledbetter, Noah Ledbetter, Austin Ledbetter, Audrey Ledbetter, Elizabeth Ledbetter, and Skyla Ledbetter; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Aiden Ray and Hudson Ray; 1 Sister: Joyce Wakefield; As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: Parents: Bradley and Bessie Ledbetter; 2 Sisters: Betty Jean Ledbetter and Jewel Bagby; 7 Brothers: Bethel Ledbetter, Bevy Ledbetter,Levy Ledbetter, Clifford Ledbetter, J.B. Ledbetter, Bradley C. (Sonny) Ledbetter, and Larry Paul Ledbetter.
