My name is Jordan Downs, as many of you know; my dad, William Downs (73),  passed away very unexpectedly on the evening of Halloween/early 1 Nov. 2016 at home in Palo Cedro, Ca. It has been an extremely emotional two weeks. I was not expecting to have to say goodbye to my dad, who was my world and someone I loved and needed so much, so very soon.

I have been driving back and forth to Redding trying to get so much figured out; but, financially, I cannot pay for much.

As I am the next of kin, I am responsible for services for my dad, William Downs. My father did not have a will or a life insurance plan; so I am bearing a large burden and trying my best to clean this up.  As I am unable to afford a traditional funeral and burial; I have made the difficult decision to have him cremated.

Unfortunately, this will cost $2000, money I do not have. I am reaching out to my friends and friends that are considered family to see if there is any way that you can help put my father to rest. This is the last thing I wanted to do; but, I have no other way to do this for my dad.

Any amount would be so greatly appreciated. It is hard to take on the weight of a death like this; as I am only 24, especially when it is your father. Thank you again, if any amount can be donated. Even sharing this helps!

For those who don't know my dad, he was a minister who traveled as an Evangelist for part of his life. He was very involved in the construction business from the time he was 16 until he turned 62. These last few years, my dad lived in Palo Cedro taking care of our animals, his elderly friend Moncell; and fixing cars for pleasure.  My dad was always trying to find ways to help others in any way he could. His good friend Ezra Moore told me just yesterday in an encouraging phone call,  that my dad was the definition of integrity. It fills my heart to know others loved and miss my dad as much as I do.

To me, the most important thing to remember is my dad is with the Lord now. God bless you all.
