On September 19th we lost our sweet and loving grandmother, Jeannette Del Buono, who we all called “Nonna.”   She passed away after a tough 9-month battle against lung cancer that ultimately won. The cancer spread to her stomach, kidneys and liver. 

There are no words to describe my Nonna, for she was one of a kind. She was loving, funny, sweet, stubborn as hell, and opinionated to say the least.  She expected the absolute best from the people she loved, but accepted and loved them unconditionally, especially at their worst.

Her family was the most important thing to her and she always put them before anyone or anything. Nonna’s unconditional love for her family made our family’s bond stronger than most.  She was the heart of our family and our lives are forever different without her.

All are welcome to celebrate and remember the wonderful life of my Nonna on Monday, September 25th at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Historic Church in Mandarin (4214 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223) with a reception to follow next door at the Cody Enrichment Center (4152 Loretto Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223).  In lieu of flowers, we ask for assistance for her funeral expenses.
