Dear friends and loved ones,

I am writing to you today to let you know, on Friday, May 13th, 2022, our mother and grandmother, Sandy Ellis took her last breath and lost her battle with cancer. This was Mom’s 2nd time fighting this horrible disease. While we knew this was a battle she could not ultimately win, we were completely unprepared for the suddenness of her passing, which happened in a matter of days, rather than the months we were hoping to have.

Losing Mom left a huge hole in our lives, and we are absolutely devasted at her passing. Mom always had a quick word, funny story, or words of encouragement for those she encountered throughout her life. Mom did not like to ask for help, and even near the end, she was always apologizing for having to do so. Writing this request is difficult for all of us as we seem to have inherited that trait from her.

We’ve all had a few folks ask us how they can help. If you would like to help with her cremation costs, travel costs for family members, or any other afterlife expenses, we are setting up this gofundme. Donating is absolutely optional, but we would so appreciate any help you can provide. Any leftover funds will be donated to Southeast Radiation Oncology Foundation (srofoundation.org) to help support future Southeast Alaska patients, and their families, who are fighting this dreadful disease.
