We never imagined we would have to ask for help burying someone we love because her life was taken from her.
My sister was murdered.
There are no words that can truly explain what our family is going through right now. One moment she was here—someone we could call, hug, laugh with, and love—and now we are trying to figure out how to say goodbye to her far too soon..She was very loved by her family .
What hurts even more is knowing that her three young children have to grow up without their mother. They are left with questions, memories, and the heartbreaking reality that their mother’s life ended in violence. No child should ever have to carry that kind of loss.
She deserved so much more life. She was an incredibly loving person who would do anything for the people she cared about. She gave so much of herself to others and was deeply loved by her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her. To us, she wasn't just a mother, sister, daughter, or friend—she was someone whose presence made our lives better simply because she was in them.
And now, while our hearts are shattered, we are also facing an immediate financial burden. My sister did not have life insurance, and her funeral needs to take place this Monday. We are desperately trying to give her the proper service and final goodbye she deserves, while also trying to make sure her children have some financial support as they begin a life none of us ever wanted for them.
Our first priority is raising enough to cover her funeral and headstone. If we are fortunate enough to raise more than those immediate expenses, every remaining dollar will go toward helping care for and support her three children.
We know everyone has their own struggles, and we never want anyone to feel obligated to give more than they can. Even $5, $10, or $20 can help. And if you cannot donate, please share this fundraiser. Sharing costs nothing, and it could put this in front of the person who is able to help us.
Right now, our family is simply trying to survive the unimaginable—to bury someone we love, to comfort three children who lost their mother, and to somehow find a way forward while a part of our family is missing.
Please help us give my sister the goodbye she deserves. Please help us take some of this financial weight off our family. And most importantly, please help us make sure her children are surrounded by love and support as they face the years ahead without their mom.
We will never get my sister back. We cannot change what happened to her.
But together, we can make sure she is laid to rest with the love and dignity she deserves, and we can help make sure her children know that they are not alone.
