A Loving Husband, Father, and Man of Faith

Hello—our hearts are heavy, but we’re writing with hope and gratitude.

I’m Cassandra Barfield, joined by my sons John Barfield III and Brandon Barfield, and together we’ve set up this fundraiser to honor the memory of my husband, John Barfield Jr., and support our family. John passed peacefully on July 2, 2025, after courageously battling a severe stroke and aspiration pneumonia. From September 2023 onward, he was hospitalized and on a ventilator. Together—Cassandra, John III, and Brandon—we stayed by his side, praying and caring for him until God called him home.

John was known for his unwavering faith, generosity, and quiet strength. He deeply valued music—often singing along during family moments and church gatherings—so we’ve arranged for a live musician to play hymns and songs meaningful to him.

As we plan a farewell that truly celebrates his life, we face significant costs: funeral and burial services, flowers, obituary notices, transportation, venue fees, and supporting our family during this painful transition. We’re requesting $5,500 to cover these expenses and ensure John’s service reflects the love and dignity he shared with us.

Musician Support—Fund Needed

We’ve already booked a musician for the service, and now we need help covering the honorarium. Live funeral music generally costs between $150–$350 per musician for an hour of accompaniment. Your contributions will allow us to provide a meaningful, personalized tribute.
