Funeral Support for Isamar's Beloved Mom
Donation protected
Hello to all,
My name is Isamar Cortez and I am raising money for my mother’s hospital and funeral expenses.
My mother unfortunately passed on Mother’s Day 2025.
A little back story on my mother’s health: My mother was dealing with diabetes for a couple of decades. It wasn’t controlled very well throughout the years and unfortunately took a toll on her health about three years ago. She got arthritis in her knees, and eventually, it was too painful to walk around, so she had to stop working. This was three years ago, and she hadn’t been able to get a surgery date due to her glucose being too high. Eventually, her knees got worse, and unfortunately, as of late, she couldn’t walk without a walker. She also developed cataracts in her eyes, and eventually, it got so bad she couldn’t really see anymore. For the same reason, she couldn’t get surgery on her eyes—her diabetes. This took a toll on my mother and her health.
Fast forward to last week:
She became very ill last Friday, 5/2, and we took her to the hospital where they admitted her and eventually intubated her since her body was too fragile and her blood pressure was too low. My mother had fallen into septic shock. She had an infection in her lungs and urine. My mom had been unresponsive since then, and her blood pressure was dangerously low. They put her on dialysis, and it was too much strain on her body since blood is needed for it, and her blood pressure was too low. She was put on three different medications for blood pressure, but her pressure wouldn’t go up. Up to her last moment, she was on four medications, all maxed out with no improvement. She had been taken out of sedation for about three days, but she was still not waking up and not responsive. She was on the verge of cardiac arrest, and unfortunately, we were informed on Sunday morning that my mother was leaving us at any time and we needed to say our goodbyes. My mom left this earth at 2:50 pm on Mother’s Day, 5/11/2025. She has left a big hole in our hearts and left behind many who loved her.
My father is retired for a couple of years now. It is up to us to keep moving forward and give my mom the rest she deserves.
She leaves behind two daughters, four grandkids, and a husband who loved her for over 40 years.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you for your time.
