Hello! My name is Crystal. My dad passed very suddenly on August 7,2025 due to a cardiac arrest on July 17th and the negligence of hospital staff. He was originally admitted to the hospital for diarrhea and vomiting. He was helped to the bathroom and left alone and not checked on even though he was a fall risk. He was left on the floor with no pulse for 10 minutes in his hospital bathroom before the staff noticed. He was then revived after 5 minutes of CPR. He developed an anoxic brain injury from the cardiac arrest and extensive lack of oxygen to his brain and had only very slight brain activity. He fought for 2 1/2 weeks and lost his battle on the death anniversary of his late wife, my mom on August 7th. I am hoping to raise funds for a little help to pay for some of his funeral expenses. Dad’s wish was to be cremated and buried with my mom in their shared burial plot. Just to open the plot is over $1700. Then add in the cremation costs for a total of $5350. Which is incredibly steep for just me to come up with. My dad was a good man who would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was his last. He opened his home to many people who found themselves in less than great situations, to family and to friends. He was a wonderful dad and devoted grandfather, a brother and friend. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him has a story they could tell you about him. He was the hardest working and strongest man I ever knew. He worked moving furniture up until his death. He deserves a nice resting place that reflects the great man he was. This is important to me because he deserves to rest with the mother of his children as he wished.
