Antonia's Funeral: A Daughter's Donations Request

Hi, my name is Maria Crespo and I am the daughter of Antonia Herrera. In April of 2024, everything changed for me, never looking at anything the same anymore. I received the news of my mom having a suspicious tumor in her left abdomen and after many tests, in May of 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Adrenocortical Carcinoma, I felt my world shattered. It is an extremely rare and aggressive type of cancer. Doctors immediately started her on chemotherapy and immunotherapy but nothing worked and the tumor continued to grow and the cancer spreading to her lungs, left kidney and liver. After struggling to find surgeons who could remove the basketball sized tumor safely, her operation started on January 13th of 2025. It was a successful surgery but it did cost her her left kidney, adrenal gland, spleen and half of her pancreas. After almost 2 weeks of her surgery, she started having complications of internal bleeding and on January 30th, 2025 she passed away. There are no words for what I am aside from feeling that I lost my best friend, my save haven. I am in distraught, everything still feeling surreal. She was the kindest, sweetest person anyone could have met and would lend a hand to anyone who needed it, always putting everyone first before herself. She had the sweetest, honest smile and that I will miss the most. Due to this unexpected loss, my siblings and I are asking for any donations no matter how small if possible to help cover the funeral costs, even sharing this post would help dearly.
