My pride has caused myself suffering over the years. Those who know me, know that I am too proud to ask for help with anything. Today I find myself in a position to where I am at the mercy of our community. Yesterday my eldest son James, along with his siblings Hadlee and Patrick lost their mother to the wickedness of addiction that has plagued our community for some time now. My heart aches for these children for the days to come.
With trembling hands, and my pride aside, today I ask a favor of our community. I understand that we are in hard times with all that is going on in this world, though there is never a "good time" to have to bury a parent. I ask of you to please come together, however you may, to help me help these children provide a proper burial for their mother, my ex-wife Sarah Rose Graff Amos. The thought of a cremation is something that doesn't hold over well with me. As of right now, due to the fact that Sarah was homeless and struggling with addiction, also with there being no life insurance policy in effect to ease the burden of something so tragic and unexpected, currently cremation is being talked about. I want my son and his siblings to be able to mourn properly, and have a place to go be with their mother when times are hard. Like I myself do, at my grandparents headstones.
If you can find it in your heart to make a donation, we all thank you very much. If you cannot make a donation, please share this post in hopes that maybe someone else sees, that may be able.
Sarah was adopted at a young age and has no family here for me to reach out to. I have met with Sarah's adoptive mother, Mrs. Jenny (Graff), and she is going to help coordinate funeral services and will be meeting someone tomorrow to figure out where we go from here with funeral arrangements. I'll try to keep everyone informed.
Godspeed, Cedric Amos Senior
