Funeral Services Luis Manuel Mejias Cruz

Hello everyone. From the Mejias Cruz Family, we want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this time. Our uncle was laid to rest peacefully yesterday afternoon. I would also like to thank Pastor Angel Rivera Crespo for your kind words, and your prayers.

Hello family, friends, it with a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected passing of our uncle, cousin, and friend Luis. Tio Luis was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico in 1962, and being the youngest of 8 children, Luis lived a full life, with family and with friends that cared about him. Uncle Luis then moved to Chicago and lived there for over 10 years with his sister Milagros. He worked and spent time with his brother Francisco and sister Maggie and as he grew in his trade, he decided to venture off to El Paso, Texas. For over 25 years Uncle Luis enjoyed his life in El Paso with friends, working, traveling and visiting his family in Chicago. On March 4, 2023, we received the news of our Uncle Luis's passing. This was very unexpected. Uncle Luis was strong, healthy and full of life, and due to chest pain that he was experiencing, it turned into cardiac arrest, and thus we lost our uncle.

We are asking friends from El Paso, family and friends from Chicago and in Puerto Rico to come together to support our family at this time. Uncle Luis's resting place will be in Puerto Rico, and to help us honor our uncle, we are hoping we can get support from his family and friends that knew, cared, and spent time with Uncle Luis so that this transition is peaceful, and full of love while he is moved to his resting place.

Any donated funds to remember Tio Luis will be used towards the transporting expenses from Texas to Puerto Rico, and funeral services and preparations at his resting place. We want to thank everyone in advance that is eager, able and desiring to be a part of the celebration of the life of our Uncle Luis.
