Funeral Services for Mike White

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the White Family and friends were forced to say goodbye to their beloved son, brother, father, uncle, boyfriend, and friend, Michael, yesterday.

As some of you know, Mike was rushed to the hospital, unconscious, with a dangerously high temperature last Thursday night.  Mike’s family and friends spent an agonizing 24+ hours waiting for doctors to figure out why he was so sick.  They finally determined that, as a result of a lingering ear infection, he had developed bacterial meningitis.  It caused severe swelling on his brain and fluid in his lungs among a whole host of other complications.  Despite the constant vigil held at his bedside, along with endless prayers and well wishes, it was all just too much to overcome. 

He leaves behind his Mother Kim, sister Nicole and brother-in-law Scottie, daughter Samantha and her Mother Marie, nieces and nephews, his girlfriend Julie, and his closest lifelong friends Jamie, David, Seth, Chris, and Robbie.  To quote something Nicole said earlier in the week, “if love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.”

No one among us will be able to give Kim back her son or Nicole her brother.  But, the one thing we can do, together, is to help relieve some of the financial stress for them that comes along with losing a loved one so suddenly.

I realize that not everyone reading this is in a position to donate financially and that’s ok.  Sharing this page or even just saying a little prayer for his family and friends is just as helpful and important.    

All money collected will be given directly to Mike’s family to help pay for his funeral services.
