Hello, my name is Catherine Redline and I am Maureen's niece. It comes with great sadness to announce that on June 19th 2023 we lost Maureen; a mother, an aunt, and a grandmother that showed so much love not only to her family but her community. Her greatest joy in life was giving to others and it showed all throughout her life with her actions and her words. From opening her home to anyone in need, to hand making all of our birthday cakes, playing Santa, and maybe her biggest legacy of all: starting a 35-year-old family tradition of spending a week at the beach every 4th of July. Maureen was always there and will continue to be in memory. My siblings and I spent much of our youth running in and out of her house, playing with all her antique toys, and enjoying large family dinners where everyone was always invited. She knew nothing of blood or not and was always willing to give anyone a chance, no matter their walk of life. When my single mother of 5 was in need, Maureen was always the first to step in. Not only my generation but all of me and my siblings' children spent from Easter to Christmas in her house, always welcomed with either a basket or tree full of handpicked thoughtful gifts. Even with the incredible impact she's had on all of our lives, there are so many more that she touched. She stood as an aid and volunteer in our community elementary school, Wedgeworth, throughout ours, her grandson’s, and her great nieces and nephew's years there. She took it upon herself to make sure we all had access to furthering our education and culture, taking us to Museums, Art galleries, Science centers, and exhibits. One of my fondest memories is of going to a Barbie show with her, as juvenile as that might sound. In all of the impact that she made we want to be able to properly memorialize and bury her after her passing. At this time, unfortunately, we are having to take to our community and ask for help in doing so. We are asking that if there is anything you can donate, it will not only be going towards her casket, burial, and service, but to also properly remember such an amazing woman that touched the hearts of so many. We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
