Funeral Services for Dante Banez

With great sadness, the beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, Dante Banez joined our Mama and Papa in heaven on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the age of 61. He passed peacefully at the hospital in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Philippines. 

Dante is survived by his 3 sons, 2 grandchildren, 7 sisters, numerous nieces/nephews, and even more great nieces/nephews. 

Dante served in the U.S. Army for several years and was stationed in the US and in Germany. He was known for his beautiful voice and oh so  popular karaoke nights at Straw Hat Pizza, Hilton Hotel in Stockton (used to be Radisson Hotel), Stockton Open Air Mall, Moose Lodge, and numerous other venues. Years ago, he organized karaoke competitions at the Weberstown Mall. Dante had a way of connecting to his audience and made them feel like they had been friends for a lifetime. At every family party, you can find him singing, DJing, or showing off his dance moves. Singing was definitely his passion and before he left us, he posted some videos of doing what he loved most. 100% of the donations will be going toward his medical expenses incurred the last few weeks before his passing, funeral services, and transport from the Philippines to the US. Hospitals and other funeral services are under stricter guidelines so arrangements will need to be made as soon as possible. 

Due to the unfortunate circumstances of COVID, we are unable to celebrate his life and bring him back to the US as we would have liked. The family has made the tough decision to not have any formal funeral services, instead, we will hold a small vigil/memorial service with immediate family only.
