My name is Edgar Leyva, brother to Kevin Leyva, who on July 6th 2021 tragically lost an uphill battle to addiction. Kevin was an intelligent and socially charismatic soul who always saw the positives in life, comedic and always making everyone around him smile. Kevin was taken from us too early, at only 22 he had a great long life ahead of him that tragically ended too short. For years kevin struggled with an addiction that our family tried to remedy through various treatments, but in the end unfortunately fell short. We will remember Kevin for all the good he did in this world and how he blessed us with his life here with us. I am asking for any help in donations for kevin's funeral expenses which will help alleviate our loss of our loving little brother. A mother should never have to mourn over the death of her son, but celebrate all the joys in life with him and watch him have a life of his own. The reality of not knowing what Kevin's life could've been crushes our hearts deeply.
Kevin had a good heart, friends and family will tell you that when you spoke with him he made you laugh and wanted to be your friend. He was just like anyone of us just wanting to find a purpose in this journey of life and always be there to help his family. He always offered to help, he was always there when you needed his help, and he was always there to listen and support like any brother would. When I think of the word brother I like to think of someone that has your back through thick and thin and Kevin was someone who wanted to be a good brother deep down. He had his own battles to fight, but always tried to hold his head up high for his family and that's how we want to remember him. A loving brother, a person with dreams to be recognized by fiends and family, and a son to a family that brought joy. -Brother, Carlos Leyva
-Kevin was the closet thing to a little brother that I could have ever had .The laughs he would give me by just being himself was something he could uniquely do for anyone with his presence. I will always miss seeing him walk into the kitchen looking for food as I offer to cook for him because his specialty was microwaved cooking. I'll never forget the time he tried to cook already cooked friend rice and drowned it with water leaving an awful smell. Though we weren't blood related I love my boyfriend and his family so much and Kevin will always be the amazing little brother that he was to me. If I could please ask for any donation for Kevin's family all is and will be appreciated. -Moya
