Funeral Service for Justin Cat
Donation protected
To know Justin is to love him. He only lived for 28 years, yet he made a lasting impact on everyone he met. My brother lit up the room simply with his presence alone. Even through the hardest times, he always remained optimistic and positive--smiling through the pain.
Unfortunately, he was not able to defeat the latest battle he faced. A few days after the new year, Justin was hospitalized when he experienced severe flu-like symptoms. Soon after, he started to show signs of liver failure while in the hospital and was immediately transferred to Stanford Medical Center. Within days, he was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive type of lymphoma.
He turned 28 years old in the hospital on January 20, 2019, struggling to breathe on his own as visitors came pouring in to wish him a "Happy Birthday." It pained our family to watch him suffer so greatly. Yet, we remained hopeful, praying for his health and his return home.
I will never forget the events that transpired on January 29th. Justin's medical team sat us down and told us that not only was his condition untreatable, but also his body could no longer withstand chemo treatment. At 28 years old, he experienced organ failure, respiratory issues, an infection (that was resistant to the strongest antibiotics), along with cancer--all of which happened so rapidly and without explanation. The doctors informed us that his body would no longer be able to support him any longer. They advised us to make arrangements as he would be taken off life support within 48 hours.
Our family faced a harsh reality that day, and we had to come to grips with the fact that he would no longer be on this Earth with us. We said our final goodbyes, and on Friday, February 1st, he will be taken off life support--putting an end to his pain and suffering.
Due to the high costs of a funeral service, my family and I are asking for your support in offsetting the expenses. Any amount will be extremely helpful.
We thank you in advance for your support. Please help us celebrate the life of an amazing human being--my brother, Justin Cat.
