Funeral Service for David Allen Sr.

On Friday, November 22nd, my family and I unfortunately lost our father, David Allen Sr., after a year-long battle with Diabetes and its complications. The reason for this fundraiser is to bring in money to pay for the funeral services that we have planned to be held about 2 weeks from now. We are reaching out to ask for support from friends and family who have known us and him, and your love and support would be greatly appreciated. We thank you all for the love and prayers you have given us thus far, and want you all to know that he will be dearly missed.

Dr. Allen was an inspiration to many, and played the role of teacher, mentor, and father to everyone whether they were blood related or not. His exploits in the chess community have led him to becoming a National Master as a young adult, and later achieving the title of Life Master. Dr. Allen graduated from John Adams High School in 1978, leading to him obtaining Bachelor's degrees in both Psychology and Mathematics from Cleveland State University, and later obtaining his PhD in Computer Science from Capella University's first computer science program. He went on to teach children in the Cleveland school district, to working on large computer projects with Cleveland Clinic. His accomplishments extend to the chess communities in Cleveland and around different parts of America, with him leading scholastic teams over 20 years to state and national chess titles. As a father, he gave of himself in every sense to provide a safe, productive, and fun environment.  He has paved the path for many to follow, and now we must all try to carry his mantle into the future. Anything you may be able to provide is very much appreciated, and will be handled by the immediate family for funeral costs. Thank you all in advance.
