Hi everyone. This is a fundraiser I really wish I didn’t have to do.
My mother has been suffering from cancer for close to 6 years, and now that battle is over. My brother Nick and I have been taking care of her financially during that time and now, at what is a very difficult time for our family, we would appreciate any help ensuring my mother’s final wishes are met.
Her final wishes were to be cremated and scattered in the rose garden at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It’s a place we’ve spent a lot of time during their summer movie screenings and, unlike your standard cemetery, this place is very much full of life.
The cost of the scattering includes a funeral service and there’s an additional cost for a memorial plaque next to the rose garden. In the interest of transparency, this is the cost breakdown.
Cremation: $800
Funeral and scattering: $2200
Memorial Plaque: $1000
Anything helps, and regardless of whether this fund reaches its goal, we’ll at least be able to get the cremation done asap and the funeral and scattering will just be postponed.
