Funeral of a Loving Mother: Elena Carmona

Hello everyone. My name is Christian Carmona and I attend the University of San Diego majoring in Biochemistry, in hopes of pursuing a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry.

Elena Carmona was the loving mother of her two children; Yvonne Carmona (29) and Christian Carmona (21). Her love and dedication was that of no ordinary mother. When our father passed away in 2008, my mother more than cared and protected us. With being forced to drop out of high school at a young age and Spanish being the only language she knew, she didn't hesitate to make sure we were okay. She was used to being a housewife most of her life, but she quickly began looking for two jobs. There would be times she would have up to two jobs to support her two children. She wanted me to go to college so I could have a better life than that in which we grew up with. It was her dream to see me graduate, but sadly, she won't be able to see that day. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. It was a tough time with her treatments, but she did beat it. Unfortunately, her cancer came back in late spring of 2018 and went underwent chemotherapy for three months. This form of chemo was stronger than the previous, which brought her a lot of pain, suffering, and hospital visits. January 2019, her doctor had determined the treatment had no affect on her cancer. There was nothing else they could do. She has been in hospice care, at home, since. She took a turn for the worse recently and is no longer with us. 

Although I am in college and hold two jobs, I barely have an income that supports my expenses. My sister has a steady job, but not in a way that can amount to these expenses. We ask for donations so we can pay for her funeral expenses. Her wish was to be buried with our father, her husband. Anything helps. Thank you.
