Funeral & Memorial Services for Michael Thornton
Donation protected
Dear family, friends, and generous donors,
Our father, Michael -also known as Mikey, Big Mike, Thunder, and Poppa, passed away on Saturday, January 15th after a hard fight with sudden pneumonia.
He was only 58.
There aren't enough words to describe the devestating loss our family feels. Dad was an unfailingly kind, loving man with a generous spirit. Someone who's perpetual boyish charm and easy smile would light up a room with laughter. He was famous for his bear hugs and love of fun.
Two years ago he suffered a stroke that caused him to be permanently disabled. As you may know, living on a very fixed income can leave little to no room for savings. He also did not have a life insurance policy. Therefore final expenses fall primarily on his two daughters.
Now, our dad didn't want a huge funeral. In fact, his wish was to have a "big, old school cookout". Which we absolutely plan to have as soon as it is warm enough. However, with the many lives this man has touched, we are certain there are those who would like the chance to say thier goodbyes, as well as providing some sense of closure for the family.
All funds raised will be used for covering funeral expenses and memorial costs. In the event the fundraiser exceeds the amount needed for these services, the remaining balance will be divided among his four grandchildren.
We thank you all in advance for your generosity in this difficult time.
