Our family is heartbroken after the tragic loss of my cousin, who was taken from us at just 27 years old. She was murdered by her boyfriend, who shot her multiple times and then barricaded himself in the room with her body. He was also pronounced dead at the scene. The shock and pain of losing her in such a violent way is something we can hardly put into words. She was a loving, helpful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who welcomed and cared for everyone she met. Her kindness and warmth touched so many lives, and she always made people feel at home in her presence.

This loss was completely unexpected. Her mother, Marisol, received the devastating news while out of the country and had to fly in immediately. As her older cousin and god sister, I am helping Marisol arrange her funeral and memorial services. The costs are overwhelming, and we are reaching out for help during this incredibly tough time.
