Dear Friends and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the death of my father, Mike Slovak. For those of you that know me, you know I have been worried about my Dad’s health for quite some time but still, his unexpected passing has hit me like a brick wall. He was a fighter until the end, so much so that none of us could have imagined the end would come so soon.
As we all struggle with the current realities of a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am devastated at the thought of not being able to gather with you all in remembrance and celebration of my father’s life. There is nothing I want more.
As you can imagine, my family was not prepared for this in any way and unfortunately my Dad had no life insurance or a last will and testament. The financial burden we now face is overwhelming. Not only are we faced with preparing his body for it’s final resting, but we also are having to seek legal counsel. It’s unfortunate that at a time like this, where my family should be free to grieve, we are instead faced with making these tough decisions and calling on those who are closest to us for support.
We have created this Go Fund Me page in the hopes that even though we can’t come together physically, we can come together virtually to honor the life of my Dad.
I humbly ask that if you are able to, you will consider donating to this end-of-life memorial fund so that we can proceed with the planned cremation, gain legal counsel, and plan a proper memorial service in the future once the pandemic has ended.
Any little bit helps, and we are beyond grateful for all the love and support we have already received thus far.
Thank you for always looking out for our family, we hope to have the opportunity to return the favor one day.
Love always,
Taylor, Dan, and Parker Jane Newman
