- My name is Joseph Barber, the father of Joseph Barber Jr., 16 years of age. Joseph Jr. was very smart and bright and would light up the room with his presence. My son was just becoming a man; he would do anything he could to help his siblings. He was so loved by anyone he came in contact with.
- We're raising this money for my son's funeral and burial. He was in a bad car accident on May 18th in Bellefontaine (St. Louis County) that resulted in him being hospitalized with multiple injuries, one of which caused severe swelling in his brain that continued to swell. The doctors did everything they possibly could to help him, but on May 23rd, he was pronounced brain dead. On May 24th, we had to pull the plug, and we don't have the funds to bury him, so we're reaching out to the community for help and pray that the community will aid our grieving family in giving my son the proper burial he deserves.
