My mom had been having some issues with her mouth, they said she had oral lichen planus. For the last couple of weeks it's been hurting her mouth so bad she hadn't been eating or drinking anything. On Tuesday, 10/28, she went to a PCP appointment at Council Oak and fell outside and hit her head. They rushed her in and did imaging and everything and her head was fine supposedly but her labs were very bad. She was very dehydrated and malnourished. They started hydrating her and started steroids for her mouth but she hadn't been getting any better, we asked about a transfer but was told that they were doing everything she needed. She would be released Monday as long as she could tolerate oral intake. Then they called yesterday morning, 11/2, and said they were transferring her because her breathing had gotten bad overnight and her heart rate was bad, but they said primarily they wanted her to have a hematology consult because her WBC was not getting better either. They got her transferred to Hillcrest South and immediately had to intubate her, when they did her heart stopped, they did CPR for 15 minutes and finally got her pulse back. She was stabilized and then coded again after about an hour and they couldn't get her back.

As you can see this was very unexpected as we thought we'd be picking her up from the hospital today, not making funeral arrangements.

My momma had the biggest heart and would give every last thing she had to help anyone in her life, I just can't believe we'll never talk to her again.
