Hello, we are Blanca and Jesus Rivera and our 12-year old grandson, Dariel, passed away suddenly.

Dariel was a bright, loving, and active 6th grader. He loved to hang out with his friends, play video games, and spend time with his family. He was fiercely protective of his friends and family. He loved to laugh and play with his cousins.

Dariel had been struggling with some of his peers. The tension went from typical 6th grade problems to intense threats and bullying. Even with taking steps to protect himself, he ultimately made the choice to take his life to remove himself from a situation he didn't see any other way out of.

Our shock and grief have been consuming and we were not prepared for the high cost of funerl and burial. In order to properly give Dariel the goodbye that we feel he deserves we are hoping that our friends, family, community, and country will help us with raising funds for the funeral and burial.

The funeral details are pending. I will update as soon as the details become available.

Hola, somos Blanca y Jesus Rivera y nuestro nieto de 12 años, Dariel, falleció de repente.

Dariel era un alumno de sexto grado brillante, cariñoso y activo. Le encantaba salir con sus amigos, jugar videojuegos y pasar tiempo con su familia. Era ferozmente protector con sus amigos y familiares. Le encantaba reír y jugar con sus primos.

Dariel había estado luchando con algunos de sus compañeros. La tensión pasó de los típicos problemas de sexto grado a intensas amenazas y acoso. Incluso tomando medidas para protegerse, finalmente tomó la decisión de quitarse la vida para salir de una situación de la que no veía otra salida.

Nuestra conmoción y dolor nos han consumido y no estábamos preparados para el alto costo del funeral y el entierro. Para darle a Dariel el adiós que creemos que se merece, esperamos que nuestros amigos, familia, comunidad y país nos ayuden a recaudar fondos para el funeral y el entierro.
