Dear friends, with a heavy heart, I share my pain for the tragic loss of my mother Norma Alicia Ordonez. She lost her battle to COVID-19/Coronavirus the morning of April 9th, 2020 in New York.
She was fighting fiercely for her life in an ICU at Huntington Hospital for more than 2 weeks. Her body was eventually too tired and gave out, not responding to any kind of treatment. This was an unexpected event and I didn't think it would have such a tragic ending.
My mother has always been my only support especially when I recently moved to New York from Ecuador. She was the reason I came here and now I'm on my own.
This is why I have created this GoFundMe page to raise money for her funeral expenses, since it's impossible for me to afford them.

Queridos amigos, con la pena más grande comparto el dolor por la trágica perdida de mi madre Norma Alicia Ordoñez. Ella perdió su batalla contra el COVID-19/Coronavirus la mañana del 9 de Abril del 2020.
Ella luchó por su vida hasta el final. Estuvo en una sala de Cuidados Intensivos en el Hospital Huntington por más de 2 semanas. Su cuerpo ya no aguantó y estuvo muy cansado, fallando a responder a cualquier tratamiento. Esto fue algo muy inesperado y nunca pensé que tendría un final así de trágico.
Mi madre siempre ha sido mi único soporte, especialmente cuando me mudé a New York desde Ecuador recientemente. La razón para venir acá siempre fue ella y ahora ya no está, estoy solo.
Por esto, he creado esta página de GoFundMe para cubrir los gastos de su funeral, ya que se me hace imposible pagarlos por mi cuenta.
