A devastating fire in chicago, IL on Rockwell and Lunt St (60645)

October 9th has left our family reeling from unimaginable loss. Our brother and his wife, and two of their children, 7-year-old Danny and 8-year-old Sebastian, perished in the blaze. While their daughter was able to escape before the fire worsened, his wife tragically jumped from the third floor with their 1 year old baby in her arms, sustaining critical injuries that have left her hospitalized in critical condition. She’s been needing to undergo constant surgery’s back to back The baby as well suffered minor injures including lung damage due to the heavy smoke. The fire rapidly intensified, trapping our uncle and his sons on the upper floors. Sadly, the roof collapsed before firefighters could reach them, and they were found deceased when the fire was finally extinguished. Our brother was a dedicated pillar of our family, a hardworking father who always pushed forward no matter what and also who loved his wife and children deeply.

His sons, Dani and Sebastian, brought immeasurable joy and light to our lives, especially to their young cousins. Their recent birthday celebrations now feel like a bittersweet memory. In the wake of this tragedy, we are humbly asking for your support to help our family navigate the immense grief and financial burdens that lie between us.

El 9 de octubre dejó a nuestra familia aturdida por una pérdida inimaginable. Nuestro hermano, su esposa y dos de sus hijos, Danny, de 7 años, y Sebastian, de 8, murieron en el incendio. Si bien su hija pudo escapar antes de que el incendio empeorara, su esposa saltó trágicamente desde el tercer piso con su bebé de 1 año en brazos, sufriendo heridas críticas que la dejaron hospitalizada en estado crítico. Ha necesitado someterse a cirugías constantes espalda con espalda. El bebé también sufrió lesiones menores, incluido daño pulmonar, debido al denso humo. El fuego se intensificó rápidamente, atrapando a nuestro hermanò y a sus hijos en los pisos superiores. Lamentablemente, el techo se derrumbó antes de que los bomberos pudieran llegar hasta ellos, y fueron encontrados fallecidos cuando finalmente se extinguió el fuego. Nuestro tío era un pilar dedicado de nuestra familia, un padre trabajador que siempre seguía adelante sin importar nada y que también amaba profundamente a su esposa e hijos.

Sus hijos, Dani y Sebastián, trajeron alegría y luz inconmensurables a nuestras vidas, especialmente a las de sus primos jóvenes. Sus recientes celebraciones de cumpleaños ahora parecen un recuerdo agridulce.
