Help Lay Stephen Jay Covey to Rest with Dignity

My name is Sheila Woods, and I am reaching out during one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. My father, Stephen Jay Covey, born September 1, 1952, is currently in the hospital battling COVID-19 pneumonia. He has been placed on a ventilator, and after days of fighting with everything he has, the doctors have told me he is not going to recover.

As his only daughter and next of kin, I’ve had to face the hardest decision a child could ever make — transitioning him to hospice care. Once that happens, the doctors say he will likely only have a few hours left.

This has all happened so fast, and we are not prepared financially to cover funeral and burial expenses. In the midst of my grief, I’m now trying to ensure that my father can have the respectful goodbye he deserves.

Stephen is not just a patient in a hospital bed — he’s a father, a friend, a man with stories, laughter, and love that filled a lifetime. He was kind, generous, and quietly strong. I want to honor him with dignity, but I can’t do this alone.
