Our Dad, Ron Stilwell sadly passed away from heart failure on Father's Day, June 16th 2019.
Although he hadn't been in the best of health for several years, his death was unexpected and has come as a big shock to us all.
What we have discovered since Dad died is how hugely liked, respected and loved he was.
It has been heartening for us as a family to see all the lovely stories and messages from his many friends and acquaintances.
Dad had an amazing life, personality and mind. His knowledge on local military history, geology, computers, family history, natural history and so much more, made home the go to man if you wanted to know pretty much anything!
He was a talented artist and craftsman. In his younger years he was a diver, motorcyclist and photographer. Dad was also, as many will know, witty and funny. Although he was guilty of telling many 'Dad' jokes
When we were young the sitting room was actually Dad's library. Many of the books eventually made their way to the Nature Reserve (the chalk pit) inspired all us kids to treasure and respect books. I'm pretty sure Mum prefers having a nice sitting room.
The reason we are asking for help is that Mum and Dad, being on a basic pension, have not had the spare funds to save for a funeral. As a family, we are not usually ones to go begging, particularly financially. However, needs must.
We are asking that if you can contribute even just a few pounds to help pay for his funeral we would be extremely grateful. Funeral costs are not cheap and even with a basic package and help from the social fund, it will be a struggle.
Even if you didn't know Dad or are unable to contribute please share this page.
With Love,
Dawn, Neil and Helen.
