Funeral Fund for Lydia Patacsil Rueda
On October 18th, our mother, Lydia Patacsil Rueda, passed away due to complications from dialysis, heart, and lung failure. She successfully endured over 15 years of dialysis for End Stage Renal Disease throughout her life, but her condition worsened fiercely and quickly, blindsiding us all. After fighting for eight days in the ICU, she passed away with her three daughters by her side.
Her positive and lively spirit charmed everyone who knew her and as her body and health declined, her faith in a miraculous God did not. Though small in frame, she was big in heart- quite literally.
During her last days, as the doctors insisted that we weren’t seeing the ‘forest for the trees’, the hard reality of her condition, we yielded to the realization that our mother didn’t see the forest either. Instead, her vision eclipsed all off us, and she was looking farther in the distance, past the forest altogether, towards a place beyond the trees, free from pain.
We created this fund for our mother’s funeral on October 30th, and in lieu of flowers, donations will pay for funeral expenses, including mortuary and cemetery costs. We thank you for reading our story, for your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
