Funeral Fund for Keith Byrd, Navy Veteran

My name is Akia and this fundraiser is on behalf of my father.

On June 28, 2021, my father, Keith David Byrd, unexpectedly passed away. Although we did not have a very close relationship, Keith was one of the most generous people you would ever meet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was extremely intelligent. He also loved fitness - especially martial arts, cooking, and reading.

This sudden and unexpected lost has been truly devastating. The goal of this fundraiser is to cover expenses involved in his death, including his funeral and burial. My father did not have life insurance at the time of his passing and his funeral expenses are too expensive to be covered by the few people who have been trying tirelessly to lay him to rest, which is only about four family members. He passed away more than two weeks ago and is still at the morgue waiting to be buried.

We are reaching out to the larger community to ask for help. It is our hope to give my father a proper home-going service and we desperately need donations to do so. We ask that you strongly consider a minimum donation of $50 to $100. However, no contribution is too large or too small, and we sincerely appreciate any amount offered out of love and kindness. We encourage you to take time to consider the impact of this cause and consult not only your head but your heart when determining your donation amount.
