Funeral Fund for Genoveva & Family
Donation protected
On the night of October 29th my mother Genoveva and my father Manuel were on their way home from a Halloween party, when a SUV traveling 90 mph blew a red light coming off the I-94 freeway ramp, and struck their van. The severe impact caused my mother her life and my father to be transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries. With being only down the street from getting home, this tragedy weighs heavy on our family and community.
My Father Manuel suffered a fractured pelvis, punctured spleen, internal bruising and has lost partial sight in his right eye which underwent surgery recently to correct. An effort, one might say, lost. With no recollection or memory of what happened, my father was kept in the dark about my mother’s passing, due to his history of heart attack. As of Oct. 31 he has stabilized enough for our family to break the news of our mother. Between his injuries and the heartbreaking loss of his wife, my father’s condition has declined. We are praying with all our might that he recovers so that he may be discharged in time for my mother’s funeral service.
My Mother Genoveva was beyond generous when it came to everyone around her. She put her family and loved ones first while simultaneously going the lengths to house, clothe and feed strangers in times of need. She had a dazzling personality, resilience was her forte. No matter the situation, she always sought out the positive. She leaves behind my loving father, myself along with my three siblings, and her six grandkids. Most of her family resides in Mexico, we are fundraising to have a service done locally before ultimately sending her off to be with her parents and siblings.
With that being said, it was decided to make one last generous donation on behalf of my mother. Arrangements have been made to donate organs, conflicting us with a sensitive time frame to acquire funds to be able to have an open casket so that my father has the chance to see her one last time.
We are asking our community for help in this desperate time of need. Any donation, prayer, or word of kindness helps us tremendously. Thank you for reading and please share our link so that others may become aware.
