On Monday, September 7th, 2021, Easton sadly lost one of its most special constituents, Benjamin Dobson, better known as” Benny” or the “tractor guy.” Mr. Benny tragically passed away after being hit by a vehicle on Route 50. He was 62 years old and would have been celebrating his birthday next month. Unfortunately, Benny did not have life insurance and his brother is unable to take on this task alone, so I am hoping that anyone who sees this could either donate towards his burial/funeral expenses and/or share this GoFundMe with the hopes of giving Mr. Benny a proper sendoff.

 

For those who did not have the pleasure of knowing Benny, all you need to know is “to know him was to love him.” While Benny struggled in some areas, he chose to live every day to the fullest. If you ever happened to ride around/through Easton, you’ve probably seen him riding one of his many bikes or his beloved riding lawnmower. In his mind, those bikes and that riding mower were his cars and you couldn’t tell him anything less. When he wasn’t out on a “drive”, he was either cutting someone’s grass (whether they asked or not lol), entertaining residents with his singing and dancing, or laying someone out (all out of love).

 

All in all, Benny was a good guy. He was a good son, a good brother, a good friend, and a good man. And it would bring so much peace to my heart if we (family, friends, and community members) would try our hardest to help this good man be buried alongside his mother, whom he loved dearly. I know that times are hard for us all, but any amount is greatly appreciated. Please pray for our community as we mourn over the loss of “Everybody’s Friend, aka "Benny”.
