Funeral for Shankar Pariyar

शंकर परियार वाग्मती प्रदेश, धादिंग जिल्ला, निलकन्ठ नगरपालिका वडा नं. ८, ससाह स्थायी घर भै हाल सान्तारोजा, क्यालिफोर्निया वस्दै आउनु भएको थियो । ३३ वर्षिय शंकर परियार पिता वेद व. परियार र माता पुंगकुरी परियारको माहिला छोरा थिए ।२ दिदी र दुई दाजुभाइका प्रिय शंकर, घरको गरिवीका कारण काठमान्डौमा सिलाइ काम गर्दै आफ्नो उच्च शिक्षालाई अगाडी वढाउदै थिए । स्नातक दोस्रो वर्ष पढ्दै गरेका शंकरले डिभी भर्दै आएका थिए । ४ पटक सम्म डिभी नपर्दा पनि कति पनि विचलित नभएका शंकरलाई पाचौं पटकमा भने सन् २०२० मा डिभी लोटरीको माध्यमवाट २०२१ अक्टोवर ७मा अमेरिका आएका थिए । घर,परिवार,साथीहरु,छरछिमेक वीच मेहनती,इमान्दार र सहयोगी भावना भएको व्यक्तीको पहिचान वोकेका शंकर नयां जोस, हौसला र परिवारको गरिवी हटाउने लक्ष्यका साथ अमेरिका आएका शंकर परियारको ८ महिना पनि पुरा नहुदै अल्पायु मै मृत्यु भइ संपूर्ण सपना अपुरो भएको छ । यही मे ३१,२०२२ मंगलवारको दिन आफू वसेकै घरको किचनमा झुन्डिएर मृत अवस्थामा भेटिएका छन । शंकर परियार अमेरिका आउने परिवारकै पहिलो सन्तान हुनुहुन्थ्यो । दुई वर्ष अघिमात्र छोरीको असमाहिक मृत्यु वेहोरेको वुवाआमा र परिवारले फेरी आसलाग्दो दोस्रो सन्तानको सोकमा सोकाकुल छ। एक आसलाग्दा नेपाली युवाको यस असामयिक निधनमा अमेरिकामा वस्दै आउनु भएका हामी सवै नेपाली मृत शंकर परियारको अन्तेस्टीमा फेरि एक पटक जुटनु परेको छ । गरिव, दलित परिवार भएकै कारण परिवारले नेपाल लगि अन्तेस्टी गर्न सक्ने अवस्था नभएको कारण परिवारको अनुरोधमा एनआरएन, अमेरिका क्यालिफोर्निया च्याप्टरले नेपलिज अमेरिकन परियार एसोशियसन (NAPA)को सहकार्यमा यस Fundraising अभियानसुरु गरेको छ। यसमा सरिक भै सहयोग गरिदिनु हुन मनकारी सवैमा हार्दिक अनुरोध गर्दछौ ।

 

Shankar Pariyar, who hailed from the Dhading district of Bagmati Province, had been living in Santa Roza, California for eight months. Shankar Pariyar, 33 years old, was the only son of the father Ved Pariyar and mother Pungakuri Pariyar. Beloved by his four siblings, Pariyar had moved to Kathmandu early in his life for better educational and income opportunities to help his family. In Kathmandu, Shankar worked tenaciously to earn money as a tailor to support his higher education and send the remaining saving to his family.

 

When he was in his second year of Master’s, Shankar applied for the DV—his fifth time—and got selected to come to the United States. In October of the last year, he arrived with new hope and a goal to help his struggling family escape poverty and offer them a decent life. His family members, friends, and neighbors knew Shankar as a hardworking, sincere, and helpful person. Sadly, eight-month into the United States, on May 31, 2022, he was found hanging in his kitchen.

 

Shankar Pariyar was the first person in his extended family to come to the United States. After the untimely death of their daughter two years ago, Shankar’s parents are reeling from the loss of yet another child. In this unfortunate hour of a demise of a promising Nepali man, we, non-resident Nepalese in the United States, need to come together to attend Shankar’s funeral and help his bereaved family. At the request of the family, the Non-Resident Nepali, USA’s California chapter, in collaboration with the Nepalese American Pariyar Association (NAPA), has started a fundraising campaign. Because of the family’s weak economic status, they are not able to afford the cost of a funeral. We heartily request people to help the Pariyar family in this hour of need.

The beneficiary Lal Bahadur Sundas has been already added as the beneficiary for this gofund.
