Ryleigh was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She spent the first 8 months in St. Louis Children's Hospital. She came home being trach and ventilator dependent. She starting excelling over the year, getting stronger, and eventually no longer needed the ventilator. It was determined in March of 2018 that she was strong enough to no longer need the trach after RSV season.
Ryleigh was hospitalized on May 11th for human metapneumovirus. As she struggled with the virus, she needed extra support so she was put on a ventilator. A week later after a near code episode, Ryleigh had a pneumothorax develop. In the next 4 days, she had another 2 develop, and another near code episode. It was determined by CT that her already diseased lungs were being broken down by the virus, and we were told it would take a miracle for Ry to go home.
Ryleigh Nicole passed away May 28th. Due to her medical history she has always been denied for life insurance. We have never been one to ask for help, but at this time we do need help to give Ryleigh a memorial service. We truly appreciate all the prayers, well wishes, and donations!
