Funeral for Rodney Edmond
Donation protected
Rodney showed us all how to care deeply for others. As we mourn the sudden loss of our brother, we have been overwhelmed by stories. Stories of Rodney touching the lives of his friends, his family, and even complete strangers. Rodney always found time to reach out to others and serve his community. Even in times when he was personally struggling, he used simple, genuine gestures to sow happiness in others wherever he went. He could often be found collecting trash along the sidewalks in town, because children walk those sidewalks, always carrying flowers in case he encountered someone, anyone that needed some beauty in their lives. He has lifted up those around him and we are blessed to be his family.
Rodney's daughter, Miraya, deserves to lay her Daddy to rest in a manner that will support her as she starts upon the long journey of coping and healing.
Rodney's mother deserves to entrust Rodney to God with the burial she wants for her boy.
Rodney's brother and sister deserve a service that will help them to connect with their brother and each other as they say goodbye.
As Rodney's sister-in-law, I am charged with the task of making it happen. While the pandemic has restricted our funeral plans, we still seek the closure of a small family viewing and graveside service with Rodney's minister.
Please help me to help my family find the healing and closure that they so desperately need.
Funds collected will contribute towards a small family viewing, a cemetery lot, graveside service, and burial materials such as a simple casket and vault. In all, we are expecting his funeral to cost about $11,000. We are thankful to Rodney's church, Foursquare, for offering a first donation to help offset some of these expenses.
Please, keep sharing your stories. Tell anyone who will listen about the beauty that Rodney brought to our community.
We appreciate your generosity as we prepare to bury our beloved father, son, and brother.
