Dear friends and family,
I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of our beloved Troy. Many of you have already heard this news and have begun to morn in your own way and with your chosen families. But for those of you just learning this we still feel the sting as if we too were told moments ago. Troy's passing was sudden and unforeseen and while this can be a blessing, to not watch a loved one suffer, its also a cruelty as many of us did not get the chance to say goodbye or to thank him one last time for the friendship he always showed to us.
A family funeral service will be held this Saturday December 12th. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the family has asked to keep this service private.
We are absolutely devastated by Troy’s passing and understand his family are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of the service. Troy was only 40, and no one prepares for this sort of thing that young.
Many of us are reeling with sorrow and want to help. We would like to pay all funeral costs by 12/18/20; That way Troy's family can enter the Christmas holiday season with glorious memories of him and not the monetary burden that sudden passing brings.

12/10/20 Addendum: Go Fund Me has asked in order to protect families from being taken advantage of that I clarify the following information for those giving:
1. Who you are and your relationship to the intended recipient(s) of your fundraiser's donations:
Answer: I went to High School with Troy and we have been friends for 20 years. We played games together every Saturday for the last 6 years and I help volunteer with special projects at his game store. I was asked on behalf of the game store (Discover Games) to collect funds to give to his family.
2. A detailed explanation of how the funds will be spent:
Answer: These funds will be given to Troys Aunt and Father who gave us their blessing to collect. This will help to ease the burden of final expenses/bills from a memorial service.
3. Your plan for ensuring your fundraiser's donations reach their intended recipient(s). This could be clarifying that they will be added as the beneficiary of the fundraiser, or if they have authorized you to withdraw the funds on their behalf and deliver the money to them outside of GoFundMe.
Answer: At the end of the Fundraiser the money will be withdrawn by myself and taken to Discover Game to be combined with any in person cash donations and given to Troys Father and Aunt in person.
