Funeral for our friend Dave Lacle

It is with great sadness we have lost our friend, coworker, chef Dave Lacle. He was husband to Odette Wanga and father to Tyrell Wanga. Dave has been living with a chronic kidney condition for many years. A few months ago he got the great news he could receive a matching kidney in the Netherlands. After missing a previous chance due to the covid pandemic . It all seemed to be working out.

After a successful transplant and months of recovery the results were very positive and he was cleared to go back to his beloved Aruba and join his family and friends.

Just weeks after his return flu symptoms made him test for covid 19 . The result was positive.

Soon after he was transferred to the hospital because of complications with his lungs and his breathing.

From there things went downhill really fast and he was moved to the ICU . Later he was put in a coma to give his body the much needed rest to fight against the virus.

As Dave's condition worsened a decision was made by the doctors to fly him to Colombia where they have specialized equipment to better treat him.

Dave passed away soon after arriving at the hospital . Now in a foreign country without any family or friends to be near him.

The reason for this gofundme is Dave was labeled a "risk" by insurance companies because of his kidney condition and was unable to get a life insurance or insurance for funeral costs.

Needless to say the financial situation is adding a lot of stress to a already very hard and painful time. Through this fund we hope to relieve the family from at least a part of that burden so that in time life can go on without being buried in financial havoc.

The main goal is to cover the funeral costs and any extra money donated to go to his family.

Any donation, big or small will greatly help Dave's family to get through this crisis.

Feeling sad but positive many of you can relate to this situation. We thank everybody in advance to help make this situation as painless as we can.
