Funeral for Otilia Zepeda Escobedo

Donation protected
Dear Family & Friends,

We are writing to let you know of the untimely passing of our mother, Otilia Zepeda Escobedo, who passed away in the early morning of Sunday January 30, 2022.

As you may know and/or have been following our family update(s), my mom went into the hospital for unrelated issues on December 10, 2021. From then on, it has been an emotional rollercoaster as COVID-19 took a hit on her and was intubated for several days. Over a span of about a month, my mom stayed fighting in the Internal Care Unit until they were able to remove the intubation. At that point, they transferred her to a specialty hospital where she appeared to slowly but surely be progressing towards the right direction.

The week before her passing we were advised she had a few days where she had declined in health and even had to raise her oxygen levels. A few days before her passing we received a call advising that she was doing a bit better.
That is, until we received the call early Sunday morning regarding the passing of our beloved mother.

Our mom was only 55 years old, but her health issues really took a toll on her body. However, even with all that she would smile through it all and made sure we didn’t need anything. Her love for her grandkids was unmatched and even though the house would get so loud, having all her grandkids under one roof made her happy.

With all that being said, this was an unexpected loss in which we were not ultimately prepared for. We have had several family & friends who have reached out and asked about gofundme accounts but up until now we had not set anything up.

We understand because of the pandemic many people who would have loved to join us in celebrating our mother will not be able to travel. That is why we have set up this gofundme in hopes to not only help alleviate the financial stress that we were not prepared for, but also to allow our friends and family to donate as they see fit.
We thank you for your donation as this is solely for our mother’s funeral expense(s).

UPDATE (2/2/22): ***Additionally, please keep our dad Rodrigo Zepeda Mireles in your thoughts and prayers as we received a call late Tuesday (2/1/22) night advising us that there has been a change in his health status and his health is deteriorating.***

With love,

Zepeda Family

Querida familia y amigos,

Familia Zepeda
