Hello, my name is Melissa Putnam and I'm raising funds for my Brothers funeral and burial expenses.

This was an unexpected and devastating tragedy for my family.

I would like to tell you about him. My brother's name is Albert Fuller Putnam IV, known to most as Putt. He was 46 years old and the youngest of 3 children, as well as being the only boy. He was a jokester and could be a smart aleck. I haven't met anyone that didn't like my brother. Everyone loved him. He didn't bite his tongue he stated his thoughts and feelings about things without remorse. He believed in principles and had morals. He loved my parents with every breath in his body and he was always so protective about them.

He use to ride and race motorcycles and was a carpenter for his entire adult life. Twenty years ago my brother has a motorcycle accident and broke his back. They said he may not walk again. He did. July 5th 2022, he had another accident on a 4-wheeler, he had an incomplete spinal cord injury they said he would be paralyzed from neck down. My brother was walking and driving and trying to live a full life once again. He was a fighter and never gave up. I never thought anything would win against him. He always beat the odds until now.

On April 5th my brother was driving our nephew and his friend home to crozet, he had an accident and was partially thrown from the truck, he was pinned under the truck, his head and shoulders were outside the truck laying on his chest and his lower body was inside. My parents were on their way to dinner and happened upon the accident, they sat with my brother for 3 1/2 hours until the truck could be moved and his body removed from the truck.

My parents whom are both retired and not in the best health do not have the ability to finance his funeral. He has SSI disability however they only pay $250.00 towards funeral expenses.

My heart hurts for the hurt and pain my parents are feeling, and now knowing none of us have the ability to pay to have my brother buried. It is a double blow.

My sister Cathy Johnson and I are asking for donations to help my parents put their son in his final resting place.

I would like to reiterate the importance of this fundraiser and getting this money as soon as possible so we are able to have services and burial for my brother. We have a meeting with the funeral home on Monday and need as much as possible before or meeting.
