Funeral For Melissa Armstrong

Our beloved Melissa Lee Armstrong recently passed on January 25, 2022. Melissa battled with stage 4 Sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that often attacks multiple organs, particularly the lungs and lymph nodes, and disproportionately affects African Americans.

Melissa was admitted into the hospital Decemeber 2021. Due to the spike in positive covid cases, St Lukes Hospital no longer allowed visitors to see their family members. Our family members were not been able to visit and care for her, hug her or share her last days. We didn’t know Christmas 2021 would be the last time we would be with her, to touch her. It has been excruciating for us.

We want to give Melissa the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. 

Melissa was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend. She touched the lives of those around her and she will sure be missed. She was devoted to family and loved to make everyone laugh. Melissa was a supporter of local church and community events. She will be missed by many.

Melissa was a single mother. She leaves behind daughter, Jada Armstrong, Grandson, James Allen Jr, Mother and Step father, Dorothy Marshall & Albert Marshall, and sisters Althea Williams, Marcella Washington, Yolanda Jung and JaLessa Marshall. We are all devastated by Melissa’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. 

We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Melissa’s funeral. We need to raise $10,000 by February 10, 2022 in order to be able to afford the funeral service.
