Dear friends and family,
It is with a very heavy heart that we are here writing this. It was very sudden and unexpected that we lost her. She was fine one day, sick the next day, and then taken away from us way too soon. She was ripped out of our lives with no warning, no preparation from one day to the next.
As we struggle to pick up the pieces and try to find a way forward, we are hit with high costs that none of us were ready or prepared for.
Our beloved passed away on Saturday, January 20th, 2024. Manuela was a wonderful person who touched the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a husband, a mother, 4 daughters, a nephew/godson, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Manuela dedicated her life to everyone in it. Beyond just being a mother, and grandmother, and great-grandmother to all the kids, she was also a mentor, a teacher, a counselor, a shoulder to lean on, and a best friend. There was nothing you could do or say that she wouldn't find the words to get you through it. She was quick to quote scripture, pray with you and remind you to have faith and to live according to God's will. When one of the kids were struggling in school, they called grandma and she would do research and type out her own version and put it into a way that she could teach them to make them understand. She created her own lesson plans and study guides to make sure they were prepared and confident in what they were struggling in. When they wanted to learn Spanish, she typed out pages, upon pages, of engaging material that went in line with how she thought they would best learn the new language. When they had interest in playing the piano, she hand drew music sheets with descriptions and pictures that helped them learn a new instrument. She went above and beyond every single time because she loved everyone unconditionally and she wanted to give everything she could give, by all means necessary, because that is who she was. She was selfless and wanted the best for everyone.
We are all devastated by Manuela’s loss and we want to give her the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory, and say our last goodbyes.
We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Manuela's funeral service and burial. We need to raise $60,000; We know that this is a high cost and we understand that we may not get to that goal, but if you could find it in your hearts to give what you can, in any small amount, we are truly thankful and blessed because every little bit helps get us to where we need to be. The money raised will go towards purchasing the plot, the casket, the funeral services (which includes the opportunity for loved ones to say goodbye, a slideshow of all the pictures we provide, a memorial keepsake, etc) the burial service, the personalized headstone, and the incurred emergency medical expenses.
Please share it to all your social media platforms- Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Nextdoor, Whatsapp, and groups and communities you're apart of. Spread it out into the world as far out as you can.
Please consider donating, as any amount will truly help our family during this difficult time.
Thank you so much for your love and support.
