As many of you know by now, our beloved Pastor Floremar Maamo Perez was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2021. He passed in his sleep without enduring any suffering or pain. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, his sons Adrian and David, his brother, Jesur and other extended family and friends.
It's been amazing to see the outpouring of love, reverence, and kind words on social media for Pastor Emar. So many have written about how through his life he exemplified what it meant to be and live as a man of God and possess a servant’s heart. It's incredible to see the impact he has had on so many lives; both in the Philippines and in the US.
Pastor Emar served in God’s ministry for over 40 years, serving as a Youth and Associate Pastor at Agape Evangelistic Mission in the Philippines to an Elder at Glad Tidings Church in Bronx, New York and served his last 21 years as Lead Pastor of Filipino American Christian Church in Lilburn, Georgia. He also led many Bible studies and through them many people to the Lord.
Although the last 5 or so years have been full of hospital stays, dialysis treatments, diet restrictions among other obstacles, Pastor Emar continued to fight and stayed faithful in serving God’s ministry, even preaching his final Sunday here on earth.
In many ways this year has been very tough on the Perez family as Adrian and Ruth are recovering from their bouts with Covid-19 in January and now it is compounded with this unexpected and unfortunate event.
As some of you may know who have lost a loved one before, funeral expenses and other affairs that come with death come at a fairly significant financial cost. The Perez family wants to honor their husband, father, and Pastor in the best way possible. Our hope is that we can financially assist the Perez family so that the difficulties that they will continue to face can be even slightly reduced.
So many of us have been blessed by Pastor Emar through his teachings, mentorship, example and even his cooking. We hope that you will join us in taking a step to try to return just a fraction of that blessing back to them in this time of need.
