Funeral for Emma E Gane and Support to Her Children
Donation protected
The Dubbo community paused when they heard a pedestrian had died in their hometown, our family was shattered when the pedestrian was identified as our daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Emma was just 42.
My name is Verlie and my sister Emma was flown to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a desperate bid to give her a shot, however, sadly Emma succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, 08 Dec 2024. Emma left behind six beautiful children, the youngest being just four years of age. Emma also has two gorgeous grandbabies.
The fundraiser is to bring her home to Dubbo and provide Emma a service to celebrate her as her family remembers her through the good times. We want Emma’s kids to have a beautiful memorial for their mother that is not constrained by difficult decisions due to resources. I desire to leave them with memories that she was more than her struggles; she was loving, driven, funny, and their mum – and her world was her children. They deserve to have the service they would want for her.
About Emma - Emma’s latter years were filled with many challenges as she battled severe mental health issues and homelessness. At her very core though, Emma tried so hard to be a good person and give to her community.
During a period when Emma was thriving, she created a small business called Emma’s SnaggaBargain . For many years, her mission was to repurpose clothing and other items to support those in her community who were less fortunate. She often engaged in giveaways through games to create a sense of community and banding together. Emma wanted to help and simply went about doing it in her own glorious way.
Towards the end of her life, Emma found herself homeless as her mental health struggles won out more and more. Even then, Emma was thinking of ways to help others whilst struggling through her own demons. It is this legacy she will leave through her children.
She taught them kindness, compassion, working hard, doing for others, and resilience. As a family, we desperately wanted Emma to live the life she deserved, to overcome her mental health struggles. It simply was not to be.
Any residual amounts raised that are not used on the funeral will go to Emma’s children.
