Hi I’m Jodie. This past 18 months have been a heartbreaking struggle for my family. My 52 year old mother, has been diagnosed with cancer and has been battling this for the past 18 months, however unfortunately is now receiving end of life care. Now let me tell you the story.

From what started as plenty of chest infections, trips to doctors, and a hell of a lot of antibotics, misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis thinking it is just a chest infection to be rushed into hospital twice with sepsis. A emergency CT scan later reveals she has STAGE 4 lung cancer which there is no treatment for its terminal, they left it to late. Try chemo they said, which again turns into chemo sepsis in hospital again. Months and months go by and the headaches started, to then be told it has now spread to the brain. Just a one side. To then be pushed to radiotherapy without no after care at all to deal with all the side effects to then be told there is now another cancer on the brain on the other side. From dealing with constant pain, swelling on the brain, sickness, dizziness and coughing up blood, loosing the ability to walk and eat and even talk! The cancer has now took its toll and she doesn't have long left at all and we know it will be anytime soon due to how weak and fragile she is. If you know my mum she is now a shell of who she used to be. She is a strong women and has thought one hell of a fight but now there is no fight left, she cant fight no more.

THE NHS will always be there but because of them failing my mum she now will leave behind grandchildren, a husband, daughters and friends who all love her dearly.
