My dear sweet Dominic. I loved you before time and love you into eternity. I have always been with you through your trials, struggles, and tribulations. You have been my rock for many, many years.
You were born a gifted child with a beautiful mind. You had sacrosanct genius which contributed to your being misunderstood by so many. It was your very genius that caused your pain, angst and confusion. You boggled my mind with your incredible array of talent, from sports, to intellect, to building and working with your hands, your love of fishing, but most of all to try to fill the shoes of your father whom you lost at way too young an age. I know that throughout your life you longed for him so deeply, missed him so greatly and I know it contributed to your woes; or as you would call it “that elephant on my chest”.
Everything you did and touched was done with the great deliberation and perfection. You had the patience of a saint, which I so admired.
You had so many goals in life, the best of which was to take care of your “baby“ sister and you’re dedicated and devoted mother. We are here with you and always will be.
You have many people who love you and have admired you throughout the years, my son. We are all very saddened to see you go, but I know now that you are at peace and that you are being greeted in heaven by your father, whom I am sure has a ball in his hand, a baseball, and you are going at it, the two of you, right now! I’m sure he’s put a golf club in your hand and you’ve shown him, while never having played nor hit a ball ever, that you can hit it 300 yards with such incredible ease. I witnessed that when I visited you out in California. Holy cow!
You were a natural at everything that you did and pursued, including showing love and respect for every soul whom you came across. You did not judge. What a gift!
No you may rest, my angel baby; the rest would you so deserve and worry not, for I will see you later!
For those of you who have loved, known or even been an acquaintance of Dominic‘s I’m sure you are saddened about his passing.
We rejoice in the gift of his resurrection into heaven!
