On Saturday, August 8th, on a day that was meant to honor the coming of a new life, a family lost one of their own. Darius Kennedy (at only 21 years of age), lost his life tragically during a jet skiing, hit and run accident in San Diego during a family vacation that was meant to celebrate a new baby that would be born into the family this upcoming October.
Darius was a son, brother of 10 siblings and would have been a father in January. Darius was a genuine person, he was the type of guy that would give you his last and the shirt off his back. He was very close to his family and loved them dearly. Darius always walked around with a smile that was contagious he was very outgoing and loved sports.
Darius fought as hard as he could, but his injuries were fatal, and he died during surgery four hours after the accident. He comes from a big loving family who unfortunately witnessed his untimely death on August 8th.
We have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the burden on his mother and family who will have to pay medical costs along with funeral preparation costs that will involve preparing his body here in San Diego and having it shipped back to Michigan for a traditional funeral. This loving family has experienced not only the death of a family member but a traumatic experience of witnessing the accident that took his life. This day will never be forgotten for this family and any contribution towards Darius’ arrangements will be greatly appreciated.
