As many of you may have heard my grandmother, Doña Berni or as many people called her Doña Naya was the victim of a collision in which she was hit by a car while crossing the street minutes from her home.
The tragedy occurred on Tuesday around noon. The injuries left my grandmother with severe trauma to her body and head. Because she still had a pulse she was rushed to California Hospital Medical Center.
However, upon the arrival of family the doctor and medical staff let us know she had no chance of surviving past the night. Her injuries were so severe. There was no way her tiny 90lb frame could handle the trauma. My grandma's heart officially gave out 24 hours later and has passed away.
Our grandmother had so much ambition. She was independent and always kept herself active. She walked everywhere and always kept a smile on her face. She said what she felt and lived life to the beat of her own drum. Even her walk was full of life!
At the moment, police are investigating the "accident," but she needs to be put down to rest. She deserves a proper burial in which she is honored and remembered. Como muchos de ustedes habrán oido a mi abuela, Doña Berni o como muchas personas le decian Doña Naya fue víctima de un "accidente" en la que fue atropellada por un automóvil mientras cruzaba la calle a minutos de su casa.
La tragedia ocurrió el martes alrededor del mediodía. Las heridas dejaron a mi abuela con un trauma severo en su cuerpo y cabeza. Debido a que todavía tenía pulso, la llevaron al Centro Médico del Hospital de California.
Sin embargo, a la llegada de la familia, el médico y el personal nos hicieron saber que no tenía ninguna posibilidad de sobrevivir más allá de la noche. Sus heridas fueron muy graves. No había forma de que su pequeño cuerpo de 90 libras pudiera soportar el golpe. El corazón de mi abuela dejo de latir 24 horas después y a fallecido.
Nuestra abuela tenía mucha ambición. Ella era independiente y siempre se mantuvo activa. Ella caminaba a todas partes y siempre mantenía una sonrisa en su rostro. Siempre hablo honestamente y vivió su vida a su propio ritmo. ¡Hasta para caminar era alegre!
Por el momento, la policía está investigando el "accidente", pero necesitamos poner su cuerpo a descanzar. Ella merece un entierro apropiado en el que sea honrada y recordada. Debido a la muerte inesperada y la situación actual; covid 19, nuestra familia está pidiendo su apoyo.
