On May 22, 2018 Carah Ellen Welch was born 15 weeks early at Utah Valley Hospital. Weighing 1 pound, 6 ounces and absolutely beautiful!
Due to complications with high blood pressure, Shiala Noelle Welch (mother) was emitted into the hospital. After multiple attempts to get Shiala's blood pressure under control, her doctor decided to take the baby out in attempts to save her life. Shiala was then scheduled for a c-section.
Carah was born strong & stable but she had many battles ahead. Shortly after delivery, Carah had difficulty breathing. Her lung had tears and in order for it to heal, it needed to be collapsed for 3 days. She was medically paralyzed from the neck down and she began the healing process. During this time it was discovered that baby Carah now had bleeding on both the left and the right sides of her brain. One side more serious than the other but over time both brain bleeds continued to get better.
On day 2 of her lung being collapsed Carah's abdomen turned dark green from a perforated intestine. Shiala (mother) & Ford (father) were told that Carah would only have a few hours left unless they performed surgery to find the torn intestine but the surgery was risky. Shiala and Ford decided to do the surgery to save her life. Carah got through the surgery like a champ! The doctors found the perforated intestine and were able to clip the ends out. Carah would need another surgery to put the healthy ends of the intestine together.

Even though Carah's lung was inflated before the 3rd day, it had healed pretty nicely but she continued to have difficultly breathing. She continued to grow and develop and even opened one of her eyes to take a look around the world she was in.
Carah then became very sick and was not getting enough oxygen. Her lungs could not fill up all the way and she was struggling. Early morning of June 12, 2018 Carah passed on to heaven to live with her Heavenly Father. Her beautiful soul left an imprint on our lives that can never be diminished. We will carry her in our hearts until we see her again. ❤
Please help these amazing parents with their daughters funeral expenses. Anything will help!
